Israel Learning Fellowships

101 and 201 (ILF): Kol Yisrael - Fall 2024

ILF 101: Kol Yisrael is perfect for those who don't know very much about Israel and want to learn more. This fellowship primarily focuses on the history of Zionism, understanding the geography of Israel, immersing yourself in Israeli culture, and much more! This fellowship is recommended for students who care about Israel, but might not be comfortable talking about Israel with friends or peers. They also might have just gotten back from a Birthright Israel trip or have never been to Israel before.

ILF 201: Kol Yisrael is ideal for students who want to dig deeper into the complexities of Israeli society. This fellowship primarily focuses on divides within Israeli society (i.e. religious vs secular), minority communities in Israel (i.e. LGBT, Ethiopian and Arab communities), and issues affecting Israeli society today. This fellowship is recommended for students who have completed ILF 101 (however, not a requirement) and/or students who feel like they have a decent foundation when it comes to their knowledge on Israel.

Participants will receive a $200 stipend upon successful completion of the program. To learn more or apply, click here

ILF 301: Kol Yisrael - Spring 2025

ILF 301: Kol Yisrael was created for students who want to continue their Israel education journey and explore the state from a different angle. Our goal is for students to walk away understanding that Israel is so much more than David Ben Gurion, “the conflict” and cherry tomatoes. This fellowship is recommended for students who have completed ILF 101 (however, not a requirement) and/or students who feel like they have a decent foundation when it comes to their knowledge on Israel. ILF 201 is not a pre-requisite and can be taken after ILF 301.

Jewish Learning Fellowship (JLF) - Fall 2024

JLF is a 10 week experiential, innovative fellowship for students looking to deepen their understanding of Judaism on their own terms. We’ll eat dinner together each week as a part of the session. We’re also going to invite you to coffee, spend a Shabbat together, help you feel connected to next steps and alumni offerings, and answer the age old question, "What's Jewish about Drake's music?". Fellows who complete the program will earn a stipend at the end of the program. What's not to love?!

Participants will receive a $350 stipend upon successful completion of the program. To learn more, click here

Jewish Learning Fellowship 2.0 - Spring 2025

JLF 2.0 is an 8-week follow-up course to JLF, focusing on the connection between Judaism and well-being. This will be offered in Spring 2025. Participants will learn from ancient and modern sources to learn how Jewish people have always prioritized wellness and self-care. Fellows who complete the program will earn a stipend at the end of the program. What's not to love?! This fellowship is open to alumni of the Jewish Learning Fellowship only.

Participants will receive a $200 stipend upon successful completion of the program.

Shabbat Hosting Lab (SHL) - Spring 2025

The Shabbat Hosting Lab (SHL) invites students to develop confidence and knowledge surrounding Shabbat rituals, to design and execute a Shabbat skill set, and to become emboldened hosts, capable of facilitating a table experience in their own living spaces that is informed and inspired by Jewish wisdom and tradition.

Participants will receive a $300 stipend upon completion of the program and will also receive funding to host two Shabbat experiences for their peers.
